An indoor camera captured the moment a couple heard about Matthew Perry‘s passing – while they were watching at home ‘Friends.’
The pair can be seen sitting on the couch watching an episode of the hit sitcom when they started discussing what other movies and shows Matthew Perry has starred in. Then the woman in the video took out her phone and Googled the actor, only to discover that he had just died.
“Oh my God. He died?” you hear them say as ‘Friends’ plays in the background. Monica, played by Courteney Cox, delivers her line: “What did you say?” at the same time the female tells her husband the bad news.
“When?” he asked, to which she replied, “Now! Just now!”
“Our camera caught us finding out Matthew Perry died while we were literally talking about him… just wait and see what Monica says the moment we find out. It gave us chills watching it!” the couple wrote alongside the video on social media.

On October 28, police responded to a 911 call to assist with a possible “water rescue” at Matthew Perry’s home in Pacific Palisades. When they arrived, they found the 54-year-old “Friends” actor in the heated area of his pool, unresponsive.
An autopsy revealed that Matthew Perry died from the acute effects of the drug Ketamine. Perry was using Ketamine Therapy for anxiety and depression at the time of his death. However, his last known treatment under the supervision of a medical professional took place over a week before he passed away. the half-life of the drug is only three to four hours.
‘Friends’ fans are mourning the loss of Matthew Perry
Many social media users flooded the comments section of the now viral video to mourn the late actor.
“Not WHILE watching ‘Friends,’” said one user, while another user commented, “That’s so weird, literally thinking about him and visiting him while he was dying!”
Others were completely baffled by the timing of Monica’s delivery. “The timing of the dialogue is wild,” one fan commented.
“The ‘what did you say?’ omg that’s crazy, this is insane,” said another.

Matthew Perry’s autopsy reveals true cause of death
The 54-year-old ‘Friends’ actor was found unconscious in the heated part of his swimming pool on October 28.
The autopsy report stated that “drowning contributes to the likelihood of ending up in the pool if he becomes unconscious; coronary artery disease contributes due to exacerbation of ketamine-induced myocardial effects on the heart. The effects of buprenorphine are listed as contributing even though they are not at toxic levels, due to the additive respiratory effects when present with high levels of ketamine.”
Ketamine is approved for use in high doses as an anesthetic in the operating room. Although ketamine has been approved and legalized by the FDA for use as a general anesthetic since the 1970s, it can be abused as a recreational drug.
Perry was reportedly “clean for nineteen months,” but he was a heavy tobacco user for many years. According to his assistant, he smoked two packs a day but had quit smoking at the time of his death.
