A jury in New York convicted actor Jonathan Majorsknown for his work with Miracle, of reckless assault and harassment in the third degree. The verdict, which was handed down by a six-member jury after more than four hours of deliberation over three days, could lead to a prison sentence of up to one year. Majors, wearing a gray suit, heard the verdict with his lawyers, with support from his family and girlfriend, Meagan Good. The actor also faced, but was acquitted of, charges of third-degree intentional assault and second-degree aggravated harassment.
After the verdict, Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, hinted at a possible appeal, expressing Majors’ intention to “completely clear his name” and expressing gratitude for the support he received. The actor’s role as Kang the Conqueror in upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films has been withdrawn following Marvel Studios’ ruling.

The charges stemmed from an incident on March 25, when Majors called 911 after finding his ex-partner, Grace Jabbari, unconscious in their apartment. Police arrested Majors after noticing Jabbari’s injuries, which included a laceration and a bruised, broken finger. Majors pleaded not guilty to all charges.
During the trial, Jabbari claimed Majors was injured during a car dispute. She claimed Majors became aggressive when she saw a romantic text message on his phone, which led to a physical confrontation. Three charges related to this car incident, while a fourth charge, a minor misdemeanor, involved Majors allegedly forcing Jabbari back into the car, which was captured on surveillance footage. The defense argued that this was to prevent her from running into traffic.
The State of New York prosecuted Majors in this criminal trial, requiring the jury to determine guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
