Kendra Wilkinson is on the mend after a panic attack that sent her to the emergency room earlier this month.
“She will be fine,” an insider said exclusively We weekly of Wilkinson, 38. “She’s doing much better.”
Wilkinson went through “a period of concern for the stability of her family” as she continues to “thrive” in the property industry. “It’s a lot for any single working mother, but she wants to take care of her children and be the best example for them,” the insider explains. “There’s a lot of pressure and she’s re-identifying herself as a mother, a working woman – and not one Playboy model and celebrity. And she’s doing a fantastic job.”
Us confirmed on September 6 that Wilkinson went to hospital after suffering a panic attack. A representative said Us at the time Wilkinson was not admitted to the institution.
“She is a source of support for her family and it can be overwhelming for any parent,” the source said Us from Wilkinson. “She works proactively to help the real estate industry thrive. She is determined and there are more positive things to come.”
Wilkinson shares son Hank Jr., 13, and daughter Alijah, 9, with ex-husband Henk Baskettwhom she divorced in 2018. The insider says Us that Baskett, 41, was in the hospital with his ex-wife during her health scare.
“Hank and their children were by her side,” the source said. “There is a healthy balance between her and Hank. They are really practical and family oriented. She was happy that he was there with the children and was grateful.”
Despite the end of their romantic relationship, Baskett and Wilkinson are still friends. “They get along well,” says the insider Us. “They are healthy co-parents and focused on their children.”
Earlier this year, Wilkinson said that despite their divorce, she will forever love Baskett. “He is the best dad to my kids and that’s all I’m really asking for,” she said exclusively Us in May. “That in itself is so good. It’s good enough and when things happen later, they happen. I will always love him and I loved him once. Love doesn’t just go away.”
Wilkinson, who married Baskett in 2009, has spoken out about suffering from depression following her divorce and the cancellation of her former reality show Kendra at the top.
“I went through a divorce and lost everything I knew, which was my TV show. Until my divorce, I had a TV show every year,” she said during an interview in June Melissa Gorga‘On Display’ podcast. “Then my divorce happened and suddenly, now I have no more marriage, no more show, I had to move into a small house – I didn’t understand what was going on and all of a sudden I had to go through an intense healing.
