Now that we’re sandwiched between fashion weeks and award ceremonies, the demands on A-Listers are at an all-time high. Between red carpet events, FROW appearances, and keeping up with up-to-date off-duty style, celebrity stylists certainly have their work cut out for them.

Amid the maelstrom of this busy month, I’ve noticed that celebrities are relying on a simple wardrobe hack to get them through their back-to-back appearances in one stylish piece. Whether they’re attending one of the biggest premieres of their careers or rushing between events, celebrities have used the monotone styling trick to refine their most recent looks.

At a recent red carpet event in London, Zendaya fell back on the timeless styling trick and stepped out in a head-to-toe eggplant outfit. Creating a cohesive and sleek silhouette, the actress used deep purple layers to achieve her monotone look. By indulging in a rich color palette, the tonal layering allowed the actor to create a visually striking ensemble while forgoing the complication of working with multiple colors.

Model Elsa Hosk created a similarly striking look and used the fuss-free styling trick to take her evening outfit to the next level. Matching her dress, jacket, bag and shoes, the model stepped out in an all-brown outfit as she headed to dinner.

The high-impact styling trick is a celebrity favorite. To eliminate the complications of having to find complementary pieces, the monotone dressing relies on just one color and few accessories. While the celebrities may use the hack to save valuable decision-making time, I’ll use it as a surefire way to make my outfits look well styled and put together.
