Southwest Airlines unveiled two new nonstop routes this week as it extended its booking schedule through November.
Both additions will come in Tennessee, where Southwest will begin a nonstop route from Memphis to Las Vegas and another from Nashville to Richmond, Virginia.
Each of the routes will be seasonal and will operate less than daily. Full details can be found below.
Memphis-Las Vegas
- Flights begin on October 3, with one daily return flight every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Nashville-Richmond
- Flights begin on October 6, with one return flight on Sunday only.

Another new line on Southwest’s route map will connect Phoenix and Houston. Those daily flights will begin on October 3, although service to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) technically marks the resumption of a route that Southwest last flew in October 2023.
The additions come as Southwest extended its flight booking schedule through November 2. While most major U.S. airlines publish their flight schedules about eleven months in advance, Southwest’s booking schedule is about seven months. The carrier extends that window several times a year.
Southwest’s schedule expansions typically include new routes — and sometimes the end of others — making it an expected announcement among industry observers.
However, the latest announcement – two seasonal less-than-daily routes and the resumption – provided an unusually quiet update from the airline. In October, for example, Southwest unveiled as many as 30 new routes during an earlier schedule extension.
