Nine weeks into Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip, the United Nations faces mounting challenges in delivering aid to the besieged and bombed enclave.
The Israeli offensive has displaced 85 percent of the population. About 1.3 million people are crammed into UN facilities there, exceeding their capacity by four times. These facilities have also often been the target of Israeli attacks.
Moreover, the killings of humanitarian workers in airstrikes further complicate the crisis.
