To be honest, I was expecting a shift in the pendulum lately, away from baggy pants and jeans. It’s been the prevailing trend in trousers for quite some time now, and a change seems inevitable, but Anne Hathaway and Sydney Sweeney are almost certain that the time has not yet come for baggy trousers to fall out of favour. In fact, their chosen trousers turned out to be quite the opposite.
Both actresses were in New York this week to promote their latest projects and both were photographed wearing very wide-leg pants. The word “baggy” doesn’t even do these pants justice. Hathaway wore white wide-leg pants and a purple vest, while Sweeney wore ultra-wide-leg jeans, a black vest, and a floor-length jacket. The shoes they wore hardly mattered because you can barely see them…
One theory I have is that pants will become as big as possible before we return to skinny pants. Or big pants might be a keeper. Time will tell. In the meantime, keep scrolling to shop ultra-wide leg pants for yourself.
