MANILA, Philippines-NorthPort is still in negotiations with Robert Bolick for a possible return as early as the ongoing PBA Commissioner’s Cup, coach Bonnie Tan said.
However, Tan was a bit tense about the progress of the talks after Bolick suddenly cut short his Japanese stint at the Fukushima Firebonds due to the delicate situation surrounding his pregnant wife.
“I can’t answer what’s next for Robert Bolick, but there are discussions,” Tan said after NorthPort’s 108-103 win over Terrafirma at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday.
The Batang Pier mentor also chose not to reveal whether the two parties are now in a position to discuss key details of the contract or whether Bolick will ultimately be dealt with elsewhere once a deal is reached.
“I don’t know if they have arrived at any figures. I couldn’t answer that,” Tan said, adding that NorthPort management is the one holding the talks with last season’s Mythical Second Team member.
Bolick played just one match for the B.League second division team before his release was granted by Fukushima.
The top scorer and his wife Cassandra have been in the country since leaving the Firebonds last month.
“He is just busy with his family, so we are still sorting it out (negotiations),” Tan said.
