“Our lesson from this match is that we have learned a lot of lessons and we are also grateful to the coaching staff for the patience they have shown us. Credits also to Galeries, what they showed against us was also beautiful. We only have control over the things we need to improve as a team, so tonight we saw that our opponent will be tougher in the next game,” Gonzaga said.
“Actually no complacency, we have to work hard and persevere as the whole team because everyone is counting on this team. That’s what we will push for all of us to step up no matter who we put in the courtroom, who we all have to calculate.”
Cignal coach Shaq Delos Santos agreed with his veteran opponent Spiker and believed that this type of match will make him stronger in the crucial part of the elimination as only the top four teams will advance to the semi-finals.
“Winning is a big factor for us. Credits to the Galeries because their performance was beautiful, especially in the third set, No. Their serve was 1, it was really consistent, the serve they gave them was very difficult,” said Delos Santos: “But for us, what happened is just a lesson learned and part of the process of becoming stronger. We can learn a lot and we have to be more aggressive.”
Galeries went winless in five games, with Jimenez leading the way with 14 points and 11 digs. Roma Joy Doromal had 11 points.
The Highrisers will also take on the red-hot PLDT Highspeed Hitters at the Philsports Arena on Thursday.
