Cody Rhodes scored an impressive victory over Damian Priest at WWE Crown Jewel, and his wife, Brandi Rhodes, was one happy woman.
The former AEW star took to Twitter following her husband’s victory and responded to a message from the official WWE Twitter handle stating that Cody was on his way to finishing the story.
“🥳🥳🥳,” Brandi tweeted.
Cody overcame the odds at Crown Jewel after being attacked by Priest before the match had even started. However, that was the only problem for him during the match, as he immediately took control.
The fight continued outside the ring and things looked grim for the former AEW star after Damian Priest hit him on top of the announcer’s table with The Reckoning. Things evened out when The American Nightmare Cross hit Rhodes as they got back into the ring.
Judgment Day were up to their usual tricks when Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio came to support Priest, but they were thwarted by Jey Uso, who superkicked them all. As that was happening, Cody Rhodes hit The Archer of Infamy with another Cross Rhodes to get the win.
Veteran wants Randy Orton to face Cody Rhodes upon his return
Jim Cornette is known for his great experiences in the world of wrestling, and his latest will get people talking.
Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast Jim Cornette Drive Thruthe veteran commented on whether a returning Randy Orton would be a good opponent for Cody Rhodes if he doesn’t have a match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.
“Cody and Orton could be a good deal. But should he come in and stab him in the back or should he come in and help him and then stab him in the back in six months?…Is Orton coming back and getting applause from the fans for coming back, and he’s a different name that comes back? If Cody doesn’t get this showdown with Roman at WrestleMania, is he helping Cody?” Cornette wondered.
If Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes face off, it will be interesting to see, as The Viper was once the head of the stable, of which Cody was a big part.
