The wrestling world is abuzz with rumors about CM Punk’s possible return to WWE.
Lately, WWE has been dropping hints on its weekly shows, with the most recent reference coming on Monday Night RAW, where Shinsuke Nakamura teased that he was waiting for his opponent, and Seth Rollins also made a teasing comment about him. Despite the speculation, Punk denied any upcoming return to the Stamford-based promotion in a recent interview.
However, wrestling veteran Konnan has shared his insights on Punk’s stance and the ongoing speculation.
Speaking in an episode of Keep it 100 podcast, Konnan shared his own story instructing WWE not to reveal its plans to maintain an element of surprise. He also gave the example of Nick Aldis.
“He’s not going to say. I’ve had people before, Nick (Aldis) did it on the show, where we were like, ‘Hey, can you confirm or deny if you’re going there?’ He already knew he was going. He said, ‘No, I can’t.’ And even to me, they said, ‘Don’t post anything that’ll get you in the Hall of Fame,’ because even Disco asked me on the show. Like they like secrecy, and that’s good. I like surprises.” (0:54 – 1:16)
He also talked about Dave Meltzer who squashed the Punk rumors:
“Imagine him, and I’m not saying this is the reason because he might not go back. No one knows, but imagine they’ve taken the step of doubling down and appearing backstage at IMPACT, so they think You’re going there,’ said Konnan. (1:34 – 1:48)

Vince Russo says CM Punk should not return to WWE
CM Punk is one of the top free agents in the world of professional wrestling right now.
On Sportskeeda’s Writing with Russo, Vince Russo said the former AEW champion will not be allowed to return to the Stamford-based promotion.
“I gotta tell you. Here’s the thing, man. If I’m CM Punk, I’ve created a great brand for myself. The controversy has created a great brand for CM Punk. If I’m Punk, I’d be done with hitchhiking .” my cars to anyone. Take that brand and do your own thing. Immediately afterwards we got a show with EC3. If EC3 can start its own wrestling promotion with a fraction of the money Punk has, if I were Punk my days of Working for Whoever would be over. The only person I’m working with from now on is me,” Vince Russo said. [7:04 – 8:00]
