Fantasy basketball is a long game. It takes patience and daily activity to keep up in the fast-paced NBA season. An important element of fantasy basketball is injury reports. You don’t want a player to start and end with a bagel because the player has never played. Sometimes the injury reports change the day of the game, so you should always check your lineups and the NBA injury reports.
The injury reports have several names. Daily is one of those injury designations. But what does it mean? Let’s take a closer look at that.
Daily or DTD means what it says, the player is evaluated every day and has no specific timetable for a return. It may seem like a simple and solid designation. It does mean that the player is likely to return soon and that his injury will not require a lengthy absence and recovery.

However, it is extremely unlikely that a player with a daily designation will play that evening. It’s usually a sign that the player will be out. It is one of many NBA injury designations. What are the others?
NBA fantasy basketball injury designations
Injury detection is the most important thing in NBA fantasy basketball. It’s a long season and often players will miss games when you least expect it. You must keep track of your lineup and the injury markers next to their names.
Let’s take a look at the different types of injuries in NBA fantasy basketball. We’ll look at them from least to most serious.
Probably – This means that the player is likely to play. This usually means that the player has missed practice but is likely to play in the match. It could also mean that they have an injury, but it is minor enough to continue playing.
Doubtful – This usually means that the player is leaning towards playing, but it can go either way. It is usually the most honest indication of injury, even if it is inconclusive.
Playing time decision – This means that the NBA player has a 50/50 chance of playing. It usually means they have to go through a warm-up to determine if they can play. It can be difficult because some teams decide right before tipoff that the player won’t play and throw a spanner in the works in your lineup.
Daily – As mentioned above, this means the player is unlikely to play. They won’t be out long, but will be evaluated every day and likely won’t play that day/night.
Doubtful – This also means that it is very unlikely that the player will play. Usually this means that the player has a very small chance of playing, but it is more likely that the team simply wants the other team to prepare for that player. They are still unlikely to adapt and if they did, they would be limited.
Out – This one is simple. The player is not playing and may miss several games.
AND – This means that the player has been turned off for an extended period of time. Depending on the injury, they could also miss the entire season.
