MANILA, Philippines – The Premier Volleyball League will have a total of 12 teams in the season-ending All-Filipino Conference this October following the addition of the Galeries Tower Highrisers.
PVL tournament director Tonyboy Liao confirmed the Highrisers’ participation in the professional competition.
“There will be a total of twelve teams. Nxled and Galeries Taipan [will be the new teams],” Liao told Inquirer Sports.
Liao added that the team at Galeries Tower Manila by Grand Taipan expressed its long-term commitment to the PVL.
The Highrisers will soon announce their coaches and players. But photos of Ysa Jimenez, Carly Hernandez, Fhen Emnas and Julia Ipac in the Galeries Tower jerseys surfaced online during the teams’ photo shoot on Sunday.
The PVL will have two new squads this conference, with Galeries joining Nxled, Akari’s sister team. Farm Fresh and Gerflor participated in the last Invitationals, but their fellow newcomer Foton withdrew from the competition after one tournament.
The second All-Filipino this year will feature title-retaining Creamline without Jia De Guzman, who took her act to Japan and joined the Denso Airybees for the 2023-24 V.League.
