Donald Trump is reportedly heading to Michigan on Thursday to use the UAW strike as a distraction from the GOP debate, but President Biden will be there two days earlier to join the picket line.
The Washington Post reports thisPresident Biden will speak in Michigan on Tuesday to support the UAW, according to two people familiar with his plans, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a visit that has not yet been announced. Union leaders invited him to join the picket line earlier Friday.”
Biden later tweeted:
On Tuesday I’m heading to Michigan to join the picket line and stand in solidarity with the men and women of UAW as they fight for their fair share of the value they helped create.
It’s time for a win-win deal that ensures American auto manufacturing thrives with good-paying UAW jobs.

The union and workers made it clear they would welcome a visit from Biden, but that’s what happened told Trump to stay away.
Trump is trying to use the strike to create a distraction and hurt the ratings of the second Republican presidential debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, which he will not attend.
Trump’s event has all the hallmarks of a sham. Trump will invite members of other unions and former union members, but he will not speak exclusively to the United Auto Workers.
While Trump uses the strike as a gag to cover up his fear of debating, President Biden heads to Michigan to defend workers’ freedom to collectively bargain.
By the time Trump gets to Michigan, he will be old news.
President Biden is welcome and will have a message that the President of the United States supports organized labor.
