Trump’s former lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, rejected the sanctions imposed on him after losing the Ruby Freeman/Shay Moss lawsuit, and now the judge could put pressure on him.
Giuliani has not paid any of the penalties he was required to pay:
In their defamation suit against Giuliani, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Moss allege that Giuliani failed to comply with any aspect of Judge Beryl Howell’s sanctions order, including ordered payments of >$89,000 and >$43,000 for discovery failures. Giuliani was ordered by Judge Beryl Howell to pay penalties for failing to conduct discovery, and he is expected to pay Moss and Freeman’s legal bills. but so far he has ignored it all.
It has been reported that Rudy Giuliani is having serious financial problems. Trump has held fundraisers for his former lawyer’s legal defense fund, a move that seems more like an attempt to prevent Giuliani from turning heel than an attempt to help his former lawyer.
If Rudy Giuliani refuses to pay, the judge could impose further sanctions on him. Judges don’t like to be ignored. Giuliani may think he’s above the law, but a harsh lesson awaits him that ends with him being broke and possibly behind bars in the Georgia criminal case because no one, not even America’s self-proclaimed mayor, is above the law.
