João Cancelo, a 29-year-old Portuguese right-back, discusses his move to Barcelona, his time at Manchester City and the future.
In the spring, João Cancelo was loaned to Bayern Munich. He joined Barcelona just before the summer transfer window closed.
The international player from Portugal is currently on loan to Manchester City. The right back discusses his move.
“Manchester City is the best team in the world, yes. But when Barcelona calls, you have to go. I really wanted to go to this club,” Cancelo told Mundo Deportivo.
“My family knows that Barça has always been my dream club. It was definitely a risk to continue pushing for this transition. But I just wanted to go to Barça. My life has always been about risks, but I am grateful to Man City. Always.
“It’s up to Barça and my performance. If you perform, the club usually wants you to stay. If not, forget about staying. The priority is to perform well, win titles, get Barça back to where they deserve and then we’ll see if I stay or not.”
