This week, the United Nations General Assembly meets in New York City in a kind of diplomatic Super Bowl. At this annual world meeting, smaller countries can express their concerns more publicly to the Big Boys than they usually would at other meetings such as the G7 summit, because, to be completely honest, they are not invited.
International meetings with world leaders would only be complete with a headliner like Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Yesterday, Zelenskyy addressed the General Assembly and decided to take a somewhat nuanced approach to win the hearts of world leaders.
In addition to speaking about the unfortunate atrocities in his war-torn country, at the end of his speech he devoted a nice piece to the 21st century’s favorite bogeyman: climate change. That’s right; we must send more money to Ukraine or face the inevitability of global collapse due to climate change.
Zelenskyy is now telling us that we are all failing on our climate change goals

I’ve seen this movie
Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed his fellow world leaders at the UN General Assembly and wasted no time in lecturing everyone about their failures:
“Humanity is failing in its climate policy goals.”
You’d think that in a time of war, the president would have something more meaningful and relevant to hang his hat on. Still, the clever orator began crafting a story that will undoubtedly appeal to those who want to saddle themselves with the climate change cult as much as possible.
He continued:
“This means that extreme weather will still have an impact on normal global life and that some evil state will also weaponize its effects.”
Oh boy, where are John Steed and Emma Peel when you need them?! Are you telling me that Russian President Vladimir Putin is essentially a real-life Sir August de Wynter?!
Taking a moment to remember Sir August de Wynter. World famous scientist whose weather machine could have helped stabilize our climate, but was murdered by two despicable British secret agents. pic.twitter.com/OwwB3vMm1B

Mr. Zelenskyy then tried to link climate issues around the world to his war with Russia:
“And when people took to the streets of New York and other cities around the world to protest against the climate – we have all seen them – and when people in Morocco, Libya and other countries die due to natural disasters, and when islands and countries disappear under water, and when tornadoes and deserts spread to – to new areas, and when all this happens, one, a natural disaster in Moscow, has decided to start a big war and killed tens of thousands of people.”
That’s right, President Putin is a natural disaster in himself. Maybe we should put some solar panels on the Kremlin or install some wind turbines in St. Petersburg?

Learning a new tune
This is not the first time Mr Zelenskyy has targeted climate change in his messages for more support.
Last year at the COP27 climate summit, he told United Nations leaders:
“We must stop those whose insane and illegal war is destroying the world’s ability to work unitedly for a common purpose.”
That “common purpose” he was referring to was the ongoing climate crisis theater in which our leaders play a leading role.
At the same meeting, he skillfully linked the food crisis caused by Russia’s port blockades to the climate crisis, explaining:
“…war has hit hardest those countries suffering from the existing manifestations of climate change, catastrophic droughts and widespread flooding.”

Well done, Mr. Zelensky, for linking his fate to those less fortunate to get the attention of the “free world.” Explaining the damage the war has had on Ukraine’s forests late last year, Mr. Zelenskyy said Russia was engaging in “ecocide,” a clever new term that climate nerds can throw around freely.
The icing on the cake of Mr. Zelenskyy’s strategy to link climate change to getting more money was meeting with climate change rock star Greta Thunberg last June in Kiev to assess “the environmental damage” caused by the war and to establish the ‘High-Level Working Group’. about the environmental consequences of the war.’ Now he has the leaders who have sold their souls to climate change ideology on board!

Feeling the heat
It’s no secret that support for sending more money to Ukraine is declining. American voters on both sides of the political spectrum are growing tired of funneling money into Ukraine while having to pay their pennies at home to fund eggs.
And the international community is also getting a bit tired of this last eternal war.
UN expert Richard Gowan said:
“The default position of the majority of UN members is that we must negotiate an end to the war.”
Remember that the United Nations includes more than just the United States and the other superpowers. Mr. Gowan’s assessment also includes what’s known as the “Global South,” which is exactly what it sounds like: countries located south of the equator.

A large majority of the South is struggling with debt, poverty and their own wars. So it is understandable that they believe that their plight is being ignored by the West in favor of an Eastern European country, because, to put it bluntly, it is.
The man who gives them a voice, Brazilian President Luiz Lula da Silva, is ready for the end of the war and stated earlier this year:
“The United States must stop encouraging war and start talking about peace.”
But we all know that won’t happen, and the proof will come later this week.
A question for Zelensky:
What is the biggest threat to Ukraine?
A) Climate change
B) Russia

Give that check to V. Zelenskyy
Tomorrow, President Zelenskyy will travel to DC to convince our elected leaders to give him another $24 billion.
When asked if he would commit to more funding, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy boldly said:
‘Has Zelensky been elected to Congress? Is he our president? I don’t think I have to commit to anything.”
Considering all the Ukrainian flag pins worn in Congress, Mr. Zelenskyy might as well be a member of Congress. But I am not holding my breath that the President will be able or even try to prevent more money from going to Ukraine.
The Uniparty has drunk the Kool-Aid, and now that climate change is linked to this war, there is no stopping it.
Yesterday, President Zelenskiy exclaimed:
“Thank God people haven’t yet learned to use the climate as a weapon.”
I beg to differ, Mr. Zelenskyy; you have mastered that weapon system well.
