MANILA, Philippines – Gilas Pilipinas Boys remained in the hunt for a spot in the quarterfinals after defeating Kazakhstan 66-42 in the Fiba U16 Asian Championship on Tuesday at the Al-Rayyan Indoor Hall in Doha, Qatar.
After a shaky first half that saw them fall behind by seven late in the second quarter, the young Filipinos came out with a lot of strength in the second half and closed out the Kazakhs to just three points in the third period for a lead of 47 -33 at halftime.
