Lot 2 currently has one of the worst – and most hilarious – bugs in its history, allowing players to craft weapons with game-changing benefits in activities or PvP. Players can place shotgun frames on automatic rifles, resulting in a weapon that will destroy someone in PvP in milliseconds due to the vastly reduced time to kill. Bungie, the developer of Lot 2says in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that it will release the fix in two waves, with the first deployed within the next 24 hours.
First, a stopgap: Bungie is disabling the ability to equip crafted weapons (players can still build the weapons; they just can’t be used). The developer says it will re-enable crafting “shortly afterwards” with the second fix, which will reset weapons made with “illegal” components to their default state.
Lot 2 players have also created grenade launchers with frames from other weapons, sending hugely explosive projectiles at enemies and PvP players. Bungie currently has additional rewards for its Grandmaster Nightfall activity, one of the more challenging sides of the PvE environment. This glitch makes the Grandmaster content run smoothly as people blast through enemies and bosses with ease.
Trials of Osiris, Lot 2The game’s competitive PvP mode is also running this weekend with a sought-after Igneous Hammer weapon as a reward for flawless play (win seven games without losing). This weapon crafting glitch means there are hundreds of players running around with weapons melting players and making Trials of Osiris very easy when it should be a more challenging PvP environment.
This exploit can also be used to add exotic weapon perks to regular legendary weapons, completely changing the way a weapon works Lot 2. It literally feels like you’re cheating when you shoot one of these guns.
It wasn’t clear whether Bungie would have to roll back its servers to fix the outage, but the developers now say there are “no plans for a rollback.”
It doesn’t look like Bungie will take over either Lot 2 offline for emergency maintenance. “We are aware of an issue allowing specific weapon perks to be incorporated into other Legendary weapons and are investigating a fix that will result in these weapons being reset in the future,” Bungie said in the original. message on X, recognizing the problem. “We currently have no plans to disable Trials of Osiris due to this issue.”
Players who use the exploit will also not be banned. “Under our ban policy, players who discover an exploit will not receive any in-game restrictions or bans,” Bungie said. “However, the use of third-party scripting and network manipulation tools is still prohibited offenses and subject to security controls.”
