ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon has proven to be one of the most dominant world champions in the promotion’s history.
His role as Muay Thai king in his division has made him a superstar with his devastating performances, outclassing many challengers within the circle.
In his next defense at ONE Friday Fights 34, he faces perhaps his toughest test yet as world champion.
Facing a fellow flyweight titleholder, he will ultimately clash with world kickboxing champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 in a dream fight for the ages.
After withdrawing from their bout scheduled to take place at ONE Fight Night 8, ‘The Iron Man’ has a point to prove on September 22 at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
However, that does not alter the fact that he exudes impenetrable confidence every time and the champion believes he has the style to counter ‘The Kicking Machine’.
Rodtang knows very well what his opponent brings to the table and sees himself as someone who can overpower his opponent and threaten him with counter shots.
In an interview with ONE Championship, he gave an overview of how their styles fit together and how he will try to exploit a flaw in his opponent’s play:
“His strength is his style of zoning. He will read his opponent’s movement and find a gap to counter. Due to his weakness, I think he can be knocked down if he gets a clean hit. And he seems to be a little wary when he attacks.
ONE Friday Fights 34 will air live and free via ONE Championship’s YouTube channel in Asian primetime on September 22.
