It’s been fifteen years since designer Christian Siriano, 37, debuted his first collection during New York Fashion Week, and in honor of this festive moment he presented the most avant-garde designs with his famous fan base by his side.
From celebrities like Quinta Brunson and Avril Lavigne to the fierce Lavern Cox and singer Kesha: there was no shortage of stars at the Pierre Hotel last Friday.
Not to mention Australian singer Sia, who also performed “Shine Bright Like a Diamond” in a pale pink dramatized ensemble with a huge bow on top of her bangs that covered half of her face.
It feels like not too long ago that Siriano won Bravo TV Project Runway in 2008, and he’s undoubtedly become a household name since then.
To kick off his 15th anniversary, he chose to stay true to his core by paying tribute to his ballet background. Inspired by the world of ballet, we saw a variety of ruffled dresses and tutu skirts, alongside suits layered with lace-up corsets.
We also saw hints of ombre metallic in the most innovative and surprising way. With silver, gold and rose metallic in different variations, Siriano guided us through the future of balletcore, with a nod to the younger generation of style stars.
His tulle dresses were perfectly draped and decorated with floral components for a fresh and fantasy aesthetic. If anyone understands the power of femininity, it is certainly Siriano who has proven time and time again that he is not new to this, but rather true to it.
It’s safe to say that Christian Siriano deserves all his flowers and more, and with his continued efforts to revolutionize the fashion world, his name will surely go down in history.
