Xavi Simons is currently on loan to RB Leipzig. Marco Rose, on the other hand, would like to see the Dutchman stay after this season.
Last season, Xavi Simons scored 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 games for PSV Eindhoven.
This summer, PSG bought back the attacking midfielder, who was promptly loaned to RB Leipzig.
In four league appearances for the German top club, the 20-year-old has two goals and three assists.
Marco Rose is impressed and wants Simons to stay much longer than just this season.
“We certainly hope so. If he feels comfortable with us and thinks we are the right club at the right time, then we will talk about it. You can assume that the boys will decide that themselves, and he has consciously chosen to take Leipzig as the next step in his career,” the coach told Kicker.
“Maybe he sees Dani Olmo as an example, he is now growing into the role of absolute protagonist for us. I think Dani’s decision to extend his contract with us was the right one. He (Simons) is almost a prototype of what we want for our game,” Rose added.
