PADUCAH – Local 6 has activated a Weather Authority Alert for late Monday night through early Tuesday morning due to the possibility of some severe thunderstorms and heavy rain.
A cluster of thunderstorms will move across the area this evening between 6pm and 10pm. We completely rule out a major storm during this time, but heavy rain will likely be the biggest threat to this activity.
A thunderstorm is expected to move across the area between midnight and 6am on Tuesday. A brief tornado and isolated damaging winds are possible within this line of storms.
Heavy rainfall can lead to potential flooding problems. There is a chance of widespread rain of 1-2 inches, with some areas seeing more than 2 inches.
Because storms occur at night, it is important to ensure that you have multiple ways to receive and hear alerts if warnings are issued while you sleep.
