I’m hoping for some Skew T experts who can make a good estimate of a certain line in a Skew T graph from Radarscope. (Unfortunately, there are no answers yet on their Facebook group, but I think people familiar with such charts can make educated guesses.) In the graph below there are standard lines: Env Dew Point (green), Env Temp (red), Parcel Trace (purple), LFC and EL (horizontal white) and the Liberation (bottom blue diagonal). Also, CIN is shown as red shading and CAPE as green shading. BUT, what is the blue line that is somewhat parallel to the red line? (I’m guessing something like potential wet bulb temperature, but that’s just a novice’s guess, and I don’t really know what it means.) And what is the dashed red line? (It has to do with Env Temp, and even has CIN shading associated with it.) And finally, why is -20C also marked with the blue diagonal, next to the 0C line? Thank you! https://preview.redd.it/vqs4j1umhpvc1.png?width=1290&format=png&auto=webp&s=6b2cfa4681686a3711b4a207809fcb7ca8f41f02 submitted by /u/Druittreddit |
