Avelo Airlines has unveiled three new routes, which will see the budget carrier double one of its crew bases and add a new destination to its route map.
The ultra-low-cost airline, which launched in 2021, will launch a new route from North Carolina’s capital region to New York this spring.
Beginning in May, the airline will fly twice a week from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) to Albany International Airport (ALB).

Meanwhile, it is also adding two new routes from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) in South Carolina: one to western New York and another to New England.
Raleigh-Durham to Albany
Avelo’s Albany service from Raleigh-Durham will launch May 10 and run twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.
It’s just the latest new route for the airline at RDU, where it launched a crew base a year ago Thursday. Today, Avelo has 90 employees in Raleigh and since the base opened, Avelo has added a second Boeing 737 aircraft to the mix there.
Starting in May, Avelo will fly between RDU and a total of four airports in New England, New York and Florida, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium.
According to Cirium, Avelo actually served six Florida cities from the airport a year earlier, in May 2023.

Meanwhile, Avelo’s arrival in Albany will give the airport a second ultra-low-cost airline.
Today, Albany travelers only have low-cost airline service aboard competitor Allegiant Air, to a handful of popular vacation destinations.
New service from Greenville, South Carolina
Avelo’s other two routes announced Wednesday are from South Carolina’s Greenville-Spartanburg metro area.
Starting in May, the airline will fly nonstop to Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) and to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in New Hampshire – the latter approximately 50 miles from Boston.
This will be the second Avelo destination for both Rochester and Manchester – the other, for each city, is RDU.
Avelo’s service from Greenville to Rochester begins May 9 with twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays.
The Greenville to Manchester service will launch on May 10, with biweekly options on Mondays and Fridays.
