An autopsy report detailing the investigation into by Matthew Perry dead, says the ‘Friends’ star did not commit suicide.
According to the autopsy report obtained by The Blastthe actor not suspected suicidal thoughts and made no attempts to commit suicide.
In the report, an unidentified woman informed police that she had spoken to Perry a few days before his unexpected death, and that appeared to be the case “in a good mood.”
Although Perry had a history of depression, the unnamed woman said the actor told her he would “never commit suicide” and that there was no indication that he wanted to take his own life.
It’s unclear why they pursued this investigation, but it was clearly something they questioned because of the way he was found unconscious.

Despite having a history of addiction, Matthew Perry’s death was ruled an accident after a thorough investigation, meaning there is no belief that Perry intentionally ended his life.

Perry was reportedly “clean for nineteen months,” but he was a heavy tobacco user for many years. According to his assistant, he was currently not smoking cigarettes, having previously smoked two packs a day.

On October 28, police responded to a 911 call to assist with a possible “water rescue” at Matthew Perry’s home in Pacific Palisades. When they arrived, they found the 54-year-old “Friends” actor in the heated area of his pool, unresponsive.
The autopsy report stated that “drowning contributes to the likelihood of ending up in the pool if he becomes unconscious; coronary artery disease contributes due to exacerbation of ketamine-induced myocardial effects on the heart. The effects of buprenorphine are listed as contributing even though they are not at toxic levels, due to the additive respiratory effects when present with high levels of ketamine.”
Ketamine is approved for use in high doses as an anesthetic in the operating room. Although ketamine has been approved and legalized by the FDA for use as a general anesthetic since the 1970s, it can be abused as a recreational drug.
Lower dosage ketamine is not FDA approved and those injections are used “off-label” to treat depression, pain and other mental/substance use disorders.

Before his unexpected death, “Friends” star Matthew Perry released a raw memoir in which he opened up about his entire life, including his mental health and his addictions. In that memoir there is a quote that may have been a cry for help.
“My thoughts are on killing me, and I know it,” Perry said in his memoir. “I am constantly filled with a dormant loneliness, a longing, clinging to the idea that something outside of me will fix me. But I had had everything the outside had to offer.”
For many years of his life, the ‘Friends’ star struggled with mental health, drug addiction and alcohol addiction, which he had previously said was a painful time in his life.
