Janelle Brown keeps her mental health in check by sweating out her problems
A lot of drama has been captured in recent months on TLC’s reality TV series about the Brown family, but the issues highlighted in the show aren’t enough to weigh on Janelle. In her latest Instagram Story update, the 54-year-old flaunted her happiness in a makeup-free selfie taken in a car.
The photo showed her smiling brightly as her teeth were visible, while her blonde locks were styled back with a few tendrils falling down one side. Janelle’s skin was slightly flushed, a glow she got after sweating hard at the gym. The entertainer gushed about her healthy lifestyle and the caption read:
“TENSION? WHAT STRESS? WORKOUT = HEALTH!!! #SWEATYSELFIE.”
The adorable image came months after the TV personality showed her support for her sons amid their ongoing feud with Kody. Instead of helping to end the rift between the father and sons, she blamed her ex-husband for expecting an apology from Gabe and Garrison on an August episode of “Sister Wives.”

“Kody still feels like the boys need to have a conversation with him or whatever, so we separated,” Janelle said of her sons in a conversation with ex-wife Christine Brown. The 54-year-old confirmed she would not be spending the holidays with extended family at the home of Robyn Brown, Kody’s only remaining wife. In her words:
“Kody feels like they owe him a big apology and some kind of conversation and stuff because he was disrespectful. I’ve always said I choose my kids before Kody. What am I going to do, go to Robyn’s house and hang out with Robyn’s kids and Mary and Kody?
Meanwhile, Kody claimed in his confessional that he wanted to “clear the air” before the holidays. “Something political or something about COVID or my own experience with it comes up and we end up in an angry conversation. That’s a stupid thing I’m not going to do during the holidays,” the patriarch explained.
No matter what happens between Kody and his sons, Janelle’s mental health will remain in top shape thanks to her gym life. The mother of six declared last December that 2023 would be her health year by sharing a video of her workout session.
The video, which focused on her progress in the gym, included a scene of her lifting weights in the fitness center. “At what point do you decide it’s time… time to put your health first,” she captioned the clip. “Because this has been a game changer. I’m coming for you, 2023.”
The reality TV star echoed similar sentiments in the post’s caption, writing, “I’m ready for you, 2023! This health journey I have been on has been incredible. The results didn’t happen overnight, and I’m okay with that. It’s all about slow and steady that wins the race. 2023 is my year!”
