Yannick Carrasco recently joined Al Shabab. He has dismissed some media outlets’ criticism of players moving to Saudi Arabia.
“Cristiano (Ronaldo) lives there with his wife and has a normal life there. Neymar, (Karim) Benzema and I live there. I have seen how women live there and how people live their lives. Frankly, it’s a beautiful country,” Carrasco said, according to AP.
“It is difficult to judge if you only hear what people say about it. You have to experience it for yourself,” continues the Belgian.
Carrasco responds to the question of whether he chose Al Shabab because of the money:
“It’s a profession. If you get the chance, think about it for a second. I want certainty and have looked at the options I had. I’m coming to the end of my career,”
For Atletico Madrid, Carrasco played in 266 competitive matches, contributing 47 goals and 45 assists.
